3 simple words

Today, we remember the sacrifices of servicemen and servicewomen who fought to protect the freedom of our country.

A freedom that some can forget with the negativity of the modern world

A freedom that some can dismiss in the depths of individual problems

A freedom that some can take for granted amongst the bickering of politics

A freedom which some can downplay by those of us who are lucky enough to only encounter war from afar through a screen

Their sacrifices allow us to not only live, but to live as we choose to. We are all guilty of taking it for granted at times, but I try and be grateful for the life I’m able to lead.

Today we all take stock of our own lives and give thanks. We do so with 3 simple words, in our minds and in our hearts.

Lest we forget

AfterFocus is a new app I've found that allows you to create DSLR-style background blurred photos by simply selecting focus area. It's really simple and effective, as you can see from the basic example above. The program also gives you the option to select how much blur is applied, what type of blur (lens or motion blur), and even adjust aperture. All applied to pictures you've already taken.

The one downside at the moment is you can only save images to a 800 x 600 resolution, but developers are planning to release a Pro version which I assume will increase that limit.

I can't call this a recommendation since I only just downloaded it, but it's free and worth a look if you like the blurred effect on your camera phone photos.
